Unbeknownst to me, my Honors English 9 classes have been collaborating behind my back! Today, they presented me with a beautiful handcrafted card illustrating our core texts this year and a gift card to kickstart my summer reading. I am feeling nostalgic and grateful all at once.

Conundrum: There is no better way to understand students than to read their writing, but teachers are given too many students so reading the papers wears them out. Truthfully, I should look forward to reading their papers, but sometimes I am in serious avoidance mode.

Yesterday was our last Hornet Time with SHS Writing Center seniors! So, we wrote notes of gratitude and celebrated their contributions to our center. Some of these seniors were in our inaugural group of consultants, and the Writing Center is what it is today because of them ❤️✏️
