IM SO GLAD ITS NOT JUST ME 😭😭

Anyone else really struggling to use prep periods to prep? I'm stuck in a vicious cycle of planning laaate into the night and being too tired to plan during the work day.

Me: I'm not going to grade on weekends because I deserve days off. Me on the weekends: *Actually isn't relaxed. Just anxious that there are assignments waiting to be graded.*

These are not normal times, we have to find ways to ensure we are not asking educators & students to do normal things in unnormal circumstances! Lets continue to protect our teachers & students health & wellbeing by remaining focused on the essential work & not unessential things

It’s so ridiculously gross to me how people act like “regardless of what happens, we’re all Americans” Nah. You don’t get to actively work against Black humans, gay humans, transgender humans, women, and science, then act like we gotta be teammates in this. We’re not teammates.

Yesterday I had a family emergency come up ten mins before my first class. I swallowed my tears (or thought I did) and taught my first block anyway. Shortly after class, this is the schoology message I received 🥺😭🖤 My heart.

I’m marrying my best friend in 5 days. By this time next week, I will be Mrs. Hughes - and a doctor’s wife 🖤🥺

Present mood...HEARTBROKEN 💔but GRATEFUL that I had the opportunity to work with such a wonderful, compassionate, and caring man. I will always have the utmost respect and admiration for Mr. Russell. I know that heaven gained an angel today.

I'm not really a call out person but for all of the English teachers who are only correcting spelling, commas, and MLA format errors and think they are teaching writing, you are mistaken. 1/1

Grammar is only a small component of writing. A grammatically clean paper is not necessarily a good paper. Please teach and provide feedback on developing claims, choosing appropriate evidence, explaining evidence with commentary, and progression of ideas. #TeachWriting
