Mrs. Gorka’s fourth grade poets carefully analyzed a mentor poem, considering their thoughts and noticing, any unknown words, and questions they had about the poem. This lead to a powerful conversation in this group’s poetry club session! Desmares School

What a great Friday afternoon spent with my PICTO winner and three of her friends at Barnes and “Rowe-ble!” We filled our time with treats, books, and a craft! Desmares School

The Rowe sister tradition continues! It was a great morning seeing so many families from across the district at the Color Run! Thank you to all of the amazing volunteers for such a great event, and thank you to the community helpers who kept us safe! FlemRarSchools

Mrs. Kunz’s third grade readers analyzed book reviews written by students from all over on the Spaghetti Book Club website! Just wait until they write their own reviews and recommendations! Desmares School

The highlight of my Friday: being invited by these two second grade reading rockstars to listen in to their book club meeting in Mrs. Hilke and Ms. Dlouhy’s class. They LOVED using Jennifer Serravallo’s Talking Map to build their conversation about Mouse Soup! Robert Hunter

It’s hard to believe that today is the last book sampling for second graders involved in Lunch Book Buddies! I have LOVED facilitating social book clubs for students from all classes to share the love of reading, talk about some amazing books, & make new friends! Desmares School

Congratulations to my very own kindergarten teacher, Ms. McDougald, on her retirement! She was the first person who inspired me to become a teacher. She is an amazing educator, colleague, and friend. I am so thankful for the impact she has had on my life! FlemRarSchools
