You may have seen quite a bit of animal print in the building today or outside at arrival and dismissal. Just to keep things fun our staff celebrated “Talk About it Tuesday” by wearing animal print. Did your kids mention seeing lots of animal print? 🤣🤣🤣

I once expected students to sit quietly for a 40 min lesson. I got frustrated when they got fidgety. This lead to me yelling. Then I found myself fidgety after only 20 minutes on a PD Day. Everything changed. I changed from “delivering curriculum” to “discovering curriculum.”

Things teachers love to hear during math conversations about elapsed time: Do we have a start time or an end time? We should skip count by 10s? Let's use a number line. I think it's this because... #proudteacher #maybehappytears

3rd grade math conversations. Working together to determine if the problem situation is asking us to find the AREA or PERIMETER: But, wait! It says is COVERS the dresser, that's area! This is running AROUND the treehouse, that is perimeter. #proudteacher #studentdiscourse

Things over heard in my classroom: No one is going to pay you to read books, you need to be reading books on the daily! #amen #3rdGradeRocks

❤️ Students aren't manipulating adults with challenging behaviors. They are expressing, consciously or unconsciously, their unmet needs. Our job is to help #students learn to have those needs met in better ways. Empathy and compassion are the key. #LeadInclusion #EdLeaders

S: we need help with 92x5. Me: let's work it out, 2x5, 90x5, then add them together, you can add 92 five times, OR use the standard algorithm. (making them work through it) S: OH, it's easier when you think about it. 💡math is easier when you THINK about it. You're welcome.
