This term we’ve been exploring the importance of gratitude and how it links to our core value of integrity! Today that work culminated in students sending nearly 1,000 gratitude postcards to staff across The Wells Academy and Greenwood Academies Trust! We wish everyone a lovely half term!

A huge well done to all our students on today’s Bronze The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award expedition! They set off from Matlock at 8.30am, and have shown our core value of resilience, completing a 10km hike before setting up camp in Birchover. Thank you to our amazing staff who’ve been out supporting them!

You said, we did! Our students asked for a space to workout and we delivered! Today a small group of Year 11s got to trial our brand new fitness studio! We can’t wait to officially open the space for Key Stage 4 next week!

The amazing impact of Corridor Culture! Last year The Wells Academy, we recorded 1155 instances of students arriving late to lessons by this point in the academic year! This year, we’ve significantly tightened our approach. The number has plummeted to 46! George Coles 🏳️‍🌈

This week the British Army 🇬🇧 came into the academy to work with our Year 10 students. The sessions focused on key employability skills, as well as physical fitness, whilst learning about life in the Army. Students showed amazing resilience and integrity throughout the sessions!

A massive well done to our Year 8 basketball team who played against our Greenwood Academies Trust friends Nottingham Academy in the City Schools qualification round. They were victorious winning 26-9 and have qualified for the finals next week!
