Coal plants are just 20% of our power mix right now, but because it's so dirty, it's still more than half of the power sector's CO2 emissions.

The new rules say that coal fired power plants need to capture all of their CO2 by 2032 or close by 2039.

The coal lobby has always said 'Carbon Capture is the Future' so the Biden Admin is saying 'OK, 2032 sounds like the future to me....here are the tools to get there. If it isn't the future, then stop emitting CO2 by shutting down.'
