There's also this take, (this one with 11k likes) which is just incorrect. The 2050 goal was set by the Paris Agreement, and Biden's 2030 goal is more aggressive than the 2030 goal set by the Paris Agreement.

The Paris Agreement's goal is to limit warming to 1.5C.

Coal plants are just 20% of our power mix right now, but because it's so dirty, it's still more than half of the power sector's CO2 emissions.

The new rules say that coal fired power plants need to capture all of their CO2 by 2032 or close by 2039.

The coal lobby has always said 'Carbon Capture is the Future' so the Biden Admin is saying 'OK, 2032 sounds like the future to me....here are the tools to get there. If it isn't the future, then stop emitting CO2 by shutting down.'

For those of you experiencing the 13-year or the 17-year periodical cicadas, don’t forget to keep an eye out for the rare blue-eyed individuals. It may not bring you fame or fortune but it’s pretty amazing to see! Here’s one I found from Brood X.

Fact of the Day: Mites introduced during the aging process give Mimolette cheese its characteristic flavor & rind texture. It was temporarily banned in the U.S. in 2013 because the cheese imported was over the limit of mites per cubic inch. πŸ§€
