the tallest statue in America 🗽 - is only 151 ft tall - wasn’t built by us, it was built by the French - is dwarfed by nearly all skyscrapers - looks unimpressive in comparison - was unveiled in 1886 - over 135 years ago America needs more grand and inspiring monuments!

I keep hearing this thing where people ask, “why don’t billionaires build monuments anymore?” First of all, they never did that much. Almost all major monuments are built by governments. Second of all, they still do. Quick thread of monuments recently built by billionaires.

What are the most impressive things* we could** build if we all really wanted it? *I’m thinking infrastructure or technology mega projects but whatever **no new scientific knowledge needed/sufficient resources available near earth

I never want to see the world’s tallest building in another country again. We invented skyscrapers and we should DOMINATE building the tallest buildings ever dreamed of.
