Jordan Peterson endorses the UCP’s curriculum. This is someone who opposes students’ use of pronouns and whose views on gender identity and expression are incredibly troubling. Not only will LGBTQ2S+ students not see themselves in the curriculum, they’re being purposely erased.

Great article. "What do we stand to lose from reducing incidences of words like reason, think, apply, connect, understand?" There are many students who understand but struggle to memorize. Math is about concepts not memorization. #abed #abcurriculum #MTBoS

Grade 5 mathematicians Connect Charter kicked off the school year with the 100#s task to encourage talking in math and to norm what "good" group work looks like, sounds like, and feels like- thank you Sara VanDerWerf! Students were so engaged. Our mathematical classroom came alive!

Grade 5 mathematicians Connect Charter worked on vertical whiteboards talking and showing how they approached the Farmer John and Painted Cubes problems. Loved the energy, excitement, and discussions in the room! Thank you Peter Liljedahl #ThinkingClassroom

Grade 5 mathematicians Connect Charter enjoyed the challenge of “Colour the Circles," promoting the habits of mind mathematicians need when problem-solving: trial & improvement, perseverance, and pattern-seeking. Patterns spotted, conjectures and solutions were shared.
