Good morning! We’re all ready to go with our ‘Omnibus’ event this weekend, celebrating #200YearsOfBuses . The event will feature free bus rides, even featuring a prewar bus or two, and it’s on today and tomorrow 10 am to 4.30 pm.
Now, isn’t THAT a sight for sore eyes…? Thank you to our lovely friends at Heaton Park Tramway #200YearsOfBuses
It’s nearly time… our lovely friends from Heaton Park Tramway and Bury TransportMuseum are helping to load this amazing horse tram so it can attend our #200YearsOfBuses event this weekend. If you want to see it, we’ll be open 10 am to 4.30 pm tomorrow and Sunday.
Nice article on our involvement in celebrating the bicentenary of buses. #200YearsOfBuses
A busy, bus-y scene! 🚌
Any ideas where and when today's #ThrowbackThursday was taken?
Thanks as always to @motgm for supplying the pics! 📷
We're going a long way back for this week's #ThrowbackThursday - to the 1890s. But this is recognisably Piccadilly Gardens and on the right you can see horse trams and buses. We hope to bring the last two of these together again this weekend at our 'Omnibus' event.
We're excited, as next weekend is the first of our events to mark #200YearsOfBuses - it's 200 years since the UK's first bus service ran, in Salford. On Sat/Sun next week we'll run 'Omnibus', celebrating buses up to 1940. Ashton 8 here won't be giving rides, but it'll be on show.
