Israel slaughtered Palestinian children on this Eid morning in Gaza. At the core of Israeli identity & the Zionist project is that it cannot bear Palestinian life — it cannot bear a full, exuberant Palestinian life. It is a nation that will eat itself, while feasting on others.

Today, from inside the walls of the notorious Ramleh prison, the Palestinian revolutionary and intellectual Walid Daqqa ascended to martyrdom.

Glory to Walid. May his name and his sacrifices be recalled at the hour of liberation.

In 2011 Walid Daqqa wrote a letter to his future child, Milad, whose name means “birth.” He sent the letter to his wife, Sama, who was forbidden from seeing him alone. “I write to an idea or a dream that unwittingly terrifies the jailor before it even comes to fruition,” he said.
