Our new block of talk for writing is looking at discursive writing. Yesterday we looked at different vocabulary we might find useful to use in our writing and matched it to the definition.

Yesterday we went down to Valley Park with Miss Smith & P7Q to play rounders and practise some races for sports day 🥎 🏃🏽‍♀️ 🏃🏽 🏏

Monday was our last practise with the Glee club for this school session. 🎶 Thank you again to all of the parents and carers for your support this year, especially in the lead up to the competition. We really appreciate how much you have cheered our Glories on! 🥰🌟

This choir have made me so proud to be their teacher! They have achieved so much this year and should be so proud of themselves 🎶 🌟

I have high hopes that these stars will shine on many stages as they grow up! Thank you for all your hard work and dedication. You are all stars 🌟

We had a ball on our trip to Sky Up Academy today. So proud of all of P6 for showing our school values at all times. They demonstrated lots of key skills for future careers such as collaboration and communication. 👏🏼🌟Lots of pictures to follow from “the best trip ever!” 🥰

We started off in the viewing room hearing all about what we would be doing. 🎬📽️

We then split off into our groups. Group B started off in the editing challenge, where we created a short form news post with a voiceover. We demonstrated lots of digital skills and creativity.

We were very excited with all the amazing technology! 📱💻

We worked in teams to write a script and were very encouraging of everyone’s ideas. 👏🏼🌟

Then it was off the studios to get filming! 🎬🌟💻📽️

First job was to decide on someone with communication and leadership skills to be the producer. They then allocated all the other jobs including a director, reporters, cameramen and editors. 📽️🎬

We all embraced our roles and worked together to create a news report. 📰🗞️🎬📽️

Incredibly proud of all of P6 for their hard work, they are all superstars! They all tried something new and learned new skills that will set them up for success in their future careers. 👏🏼👏🏼💻🎬

We all enjoyed learning about the process that goes on behind the scenes. The wardrobe was a big hit! 📰👔

Lots of new skills learned whilst having a whole lot of fun! 🥰
