I passed the Minnesota Bar Exam. Onward and upward.

Lisa supported me when I started law school during a pandemic. She supported me during the time we were long distance while I was working. She supported me for the year I was a full-time student and wasn’t working. Everything accomplished is accomplished as a team.

I gave ChatGPT a description of myself and my ideal home office and it gave me this picture. Evidently it takes the term “wheat desk” literally.

The Iowa State football team is 5-0 in for the first time since 1980, ranked #11 in the country, and has the best odds to win the 2024 Big 12 Conference Championship. Ryan Longhenry - oh how I miss talking college football on Monday mornings.

Went to the neighborhood steakhouse to watch the ISU game. Older couple next to us used a gift card from 2007 to pay for their meal. The explanation was that “We’re impulse people. We open the safe, grab a gift card, and go to dinner.” A foreshadowing of my retired self.

I moved to Ames in 2008. ISU Football went 2-10. Ames’ best basketball team played at Ames High. If you told me ISU would one day dominate the Big 12 and be a factor on a national level, I would have said “not in a million years.” It took 16.

It’s something special to see Dave Portnoy in Iowa State Athletics gear doing a pizza review of Jeffs Pizza Shop standing on Lincoln Way. Who has it better than us Iowa State fans right now?

The year is 2050. The 128 team, 7 week long CFP starts the week of Thanksgiving, after the play in games for the bottom 10 teams start the week before. Everyone gets a chance. Georgia vs Georgia Southern first round? Who says no?

Fun fact: gas prices today are roughly where they were 20 years ago.
