The first time Irelands women played France was in May 1980 and it had a similar score line to today (98-50). Michelle Clarke who played today, her mum and aunt played that day. Women’s pro basketball has grown a lot since then hence the gap still being big.

RIP to one of the biggest characters in basketball. Kenny loved Killester and dedicated so much time to the club. It’s great that he saw Mimi deliver the women’s title last year to go along with Robbie’s multiple trophies. Thoughts are with Philly, Jackie, Mimi and Robbie.

In the women’s league Meteors v Killester should be interesting. I don’t believe Killester have Hannah Thornton cleared yet which is unfair. In the club rules a max of 3 players can move from one club to another in one year. The rule is designed to stop poaching.
