Vascular ion channels don’t function in isolation! Manuel F. Navedo team discovered a novel mechanism of cooperative gating in diabetic hyperglycemia, in which spatial reorganization of CaV1.2 subunit “superclusters” increases arterial myocyte Ca2+ and contractility.
