Been a tough weekend for Dave and Ginny with 2 long days covering for WMFS Fire Investigation Dog at a very sad incident

Look who’s at #Swadlincote fire station open day today. Come and meet East Mids Fire Dog with Ginny the fire dog and the amazing retired Dexter fire dog who continues his legacy through our brilliant Dexter mascot. Open until 3pm and free for all the family.

This week saw Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service host a working at height training day for the fire investigation dogs. Thanks must go to green watch Ascot Drive for helping out.

Happy 3⃣ Birthday to one of our Fire Investigation dogs, Barney 🐾 Our FI dogs have collectively attended nearly 350 incidents, and have helped secure 117 years’ worth of custodial sentences🔥 And you might've seen him at Stapleford’s Open Day yesterday👀 East Mids Fire Dog

Last week we were working at height. This week Ginny and Barney have been practicing their boat skills. Special thanks to Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service Highfields station for allowing us to join their training session.

Well done to Barney and Tim this week as they have successfully passed their relicensing course with South Yorkshire Police

Special surprises for Ginny today. Following a trip to Pets at Home for a new collar, 3 new friends have joined the family

Barney is getting in the spirit and settling down to support BBC Children in Need tonight

We're saddened to hear of the loss of one of our friends this week. When you work together for so long the loss is felt deeply. The thoughts of everyone East Mids Fire Dog are with Nikki and her family

Man down!! Thoughts and prayers for WMFS Fire Investigation Dog Giddy who has had to have stitches to a leg wound she suffered on this morning's walk

Today Barney and Ginny were at Derby university helping out with sample testing. We had a surprise visit from WMFS Fire Investigation Dog Giddy who we can report is recovering well

On the mend, bandage off Wednesday and healing well. Feeling more lively and even helped out with some research yesterday. West Midlands Fire Service
