As some of us warned, the competitiveness and growth objective imposed on regulators would be used by government and finance lobbies to stymie efforts to clean up financial services.

Congratulations to the formidable Cllr. Lilian Seenoi Barr (MRS BARR)-SDLP who’ll make a magnificent first citizen for Derry & an impact far beyond. Have known Lilian as an activist & colleague almost 10 years, admiring her energy & thinking on a New Ireland & new Northern Ireland. A Maasai woman & a Derry girl
Drop everything you're doing and do this one thing.
Message everyone you know in the North East.
Relatives, friends, colleagues, exes. Whoever!
Ask them to vote Mayor Jamie Driscoll.
The polling shows he can do it. The Tories have no chance. Vote with your conscience!

Policymakers have wasted so much time with initiatives based on narrative reporting, risk disclosures, sustainability labels etc. Ratings providers have proliferated.
Policymakers should have focused on getting foundational data right.
