1/ Associative thinking---connecting concepts to form ideas, inventions, and artworks---is at the heart of creativity. In our new Trends in Cognitive Sciences review, Yoed Kenett and I explore how associative thinking works in the creative mind 🧵

45 years ago today the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints reintegrated its priesthood & temples & restored the Church to its universal roots. Today we remember some of those who slipped past the walls of exclusion to receive priesthood ordination or temple rituals before June 1978

My latest on how these public accounts shed light on an underrepresented group, and what that means for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints:

Very grateful to be a part of this project, and to The Salt Lake Tribune for showcasing our research. I hope it is useful for researchers and religious congregants alike.

LRS just announced their dissolution. No dredged islands on Utah Lake. Eternal thanks to all who have spoken up and showed up. Special thanks to my family and lawyers (who feel like family). Time for a post mortem and then back to real restoration work. #utpol #utleg

I'm thrilled to have an essay in this 🔥 special issue. Open version: osf.io/preprints/soca… Objectivity is still a utopian pursuit, even more so in this new (?) computational era. But computational methods require *embodied*, not disembodied objectivity. A 🧵

#utahjuneteenth a 🧵 What does Juneteenth have to do with Utah history? Utah remained loyal to the Union during the Civil War so we might think that Juneteenth does not involve Utah but we'd be wrong. 1/16

Bird nests made from anti-bird spikes! 🤯 Even for me as a nest researcher, these are the craziest bird nests I've ever seen. Today my paper came out on this rebellious behaviour. And it's like telling a joke... A thread. 🧵

Nobody rational looks at Utah's balance of power and concludes that our legislative branch needs more. This constitutional amendment is a scheme to take power from citizens and hand it to the legislature. They don't need more power. We do. Let's stop this.x.com/utahsenate/sta…

Here’s the thing about state constitutional amendments in Utah: they can only be initiated by the legislature. This means that if an amendment is passed that gives the legislature more power, there’s almost no chance that the people can rescind it if the power is abused.
