There is no role for oil and gas in a safe future. It puts the UK’s climate targets in danger and does nothing for our energy security.

We need affordable, clean energy for all with investment in a just transition, energy efficiency and renewables. theguardian.com/environment/20…

A pleasant walk along Castle Mill Stream on the way into County Hall this morning.

Just another reminder that last night the Tories voted to block action to clean up our sewage filled waterways!

Delighted that we at Oxfordshire County Council have unanimously passed this motion to put the Wellbeing of Future Generations at the heart of everything we do to shift our policymaking from short-termism to long term thinking, inspired by Future Gen Cymru Welsh Labour Roman Krznaric 🥳🎉🌹

One chart by Resolution Foundation that captures the extraordinary squeeze in living standards over the last 15 years. How on earth is reversing this trend not the number one priority for policy-makers?! 🤦🏾

Social care workforce is on its knees with record 165k vacancies, and we desperately need better support to help keep people living well at home rather than ending up in hospital. Cutting vital funding for both is wrong, and unforgivably stupid costing everyone more in long run

On BBC Radio London at 3 on all things & its impact on local economies;
- Announcements today do nothing to make up for £40bill cut to councils since 2010
- Acutely local issues, such as housing & adult social care, got NO mention today?!

This thread summarises everything wrong with the budget.

No public sector pay rises. No protection from the cost of living. No solutions on childcare, housing, social care, the NHS. No real climate action.

Lack of investment. Lack of imagination.

Just more🩹🩹🩹.
