Stripped to its core, NEITI Nigeria is intended to ensure that resources from oil, gas and mining serve the generality of Nigerians. /3

With d belief dat sunshine is d best disinfectant, NEITI Nigeria shines light into d revenues n operations of our oil, gas n mining sector /5

So NEITI Nigeria is basically a tranparency & accountability mechanism in a very strategic but quite opaqie sector of our national life. /7

Since formation in 2004, under d inimitable Oby Ezekwesili, NEITI Nigeria has done a lot of work, but there is still a lot to be done /8

The work of opening up d extractive sector, ensuring that natural resources aid prosperity n that govt truly serves d people is still WIP /9

With EITI, d assumption is dat transparency is enough for shared prosperity. It is not. At best, it is necessary not sufficient /10

The linkage btw transparency, accountability, good governance, growth, development, and shared prosperity is not automatic. /11

While NEITI Nigeria will continue to provide revenue data, we as citizens must use d data to make govt more accountable/responsive /12

So this is not abt d ritual of audits or some cold data. It is abt returning govt to its primary essence. /13

The job of opening up an opaque sector/ making natural resources/govt work for the people is d job for all of us, not NEITI Nigeria alone /14

So pls take interest in d work of NEITI Nigeria, ask questions of what is done wt your resources, hold our feet to d fire. Let's do it! 15/15
