Welp since Pete Buttigieg is trending, I’ll reshare one of my favorite clips of young Pete asking a question at a college event. Don’t let anyone tell you he’s fake or doing an Obama impression or something. He’s literally always been this thoughtful and introspective

This line of thought gets the most noise but we have to push back. Work is like a gas: it will expand and fill whatever space it can get. We have to be wise & ruthless and just let some things go undone. Whatever amount we take home WILL NOT create extra time in the day.

If things keep getting done they will keep asking more of us. The system doesn't care about teachers or students; it just wants to squeeze the most work out of the least amount of people. We must let things lie on the table, unfinished. That is the only way to change the system

But you know who else deserves our time and attention? Our families. Our friends. AND OURSELVES. If we're pouring out all day and all night "for the kids" we're just hollowing out our souls at the expense of our jobs. Who does that serve? Only the system, because it gets.
