My contribution to today’s discourse is a reminder that “The People vs O.J. Simpson” tv show is excellent and Sarah Paulson plays a very good Marcia Clark

I’ve been testing the Humane AI Pin for the last few weeks. I thought it would be really cool, but it's literally not. As in, it actually gets hot. My short video review here:

Really pleased the work Jeff Horwitz and I have done to investigate Meta's child-safety shortcomings is a finalist for a The Deadline Club Public Service Award. It's an honor to be named alongside so many other talented colleagues and peers -- full list here:

Cruise is resuming manual driving in Phoenix, a first step toward getting their driverless cars back on the road.

Interesting time for the industry with Tesla’s recent announcement of a robotaxi unveiling slated for August and Waymo’s expansions in LA and onto freeways.

New: Snap is turning off its paid friend-ranking feature, known as 'Solar System,' by default, citing concerns about its impact on the wellbeing of users.

The Information was the first to report on the feature's mental health impacts in January.

But first, here’s an explainer video I made with our video team (cc Elise Dean) about the TikTok ban efforts and the very literal way that the U.S. government would go about banning the app ie requiring it to be taken off the app stores.

When I clicked on the link to do so, X warned me that the link may be unsafe and spammy. Very confused.

Powerful push alert from The Wall Street Journal this morning.

Today marks one year since our colleague Evan Gershkovich was picked up by Russian authorities and detained in a Russian prison unjustly.

Evan was just doing his job, not committing a crime.

Interesting story from Andrew J. Hawkins 🚇🚌🚲🛴 in the Verge today about NYC welcoming robotaxis to the city, but only with safety drivers.

Worth noting that the self-driving Uber that struck and killed a woman in Tempe, AZ, in 2018 had a safety driver in the car.
