[EVENT] Dedicated to #tourism in Mediterranean #MPAs , the MedPAN's regional experience-sharing workshop will be held with @PNPC83s from April 15 to April 18. Angelo Sciacca (IDDRI) will moderate the session “Strengthening cross-sector collaboration through networks”. Register👇

Day 2 #medpanworkshop2024 is field day. We formed 3 subgroups to cover most of the Parc nat. Port-cros territory.

So we are dispatched on land and on water to learn about the different species living in this territory and the different methods for the conversation of this biodiversity.

🌊The importance of Marine Protected Areas ( #MPA ) and Specially Protected Areas of Mediterranean Importance (SPAMIs) for a healthy #Mediterranean Sea was highlighted by our colleague Yaprak Arda at the UN UNESCO Ocean MPA Forum.

Signature of the MoU between MedPAN and MedCities solidifying the collaboration of our 2 organisations to continue working towards a healthier Mediterranean.

At the #oceandecade24 MPA Forum, the President of MedPAN gave a keynote speech that dove into her experience working within #MPA networks and with them.

She said 'We need society to be leading conservation projects', adding that 'the challenge is in the human activities.'

As part of the #oceandecade24 , UNESCO 🏛️ #Education #Sciences #Culture 🇺🇳 with partners, including MedPAN, are organising a 2-day event to explore how four key themes are driving the contribution of MPAs to the UN Ocean Decade goals.
