The Mayoress Sue Stears hosted Ladies Who Lunch, a  Bollywood themed fundraising event with dancers who performed from Oaks Park High School and additional Bollywood themed entertainment.  £1,162 was raised for the Mayor's two chosen charities

Arthur Hookway, Chairman of Sutton, Kingston & Epsom Branch of Parkinson's UK & volunteers had a stall in Trinity Square to mark World Parkinson's Day to help raise awareness about Parkinson's & to showcase valuable support which is available for anyone suffering with the disease

Madam Deputy Mayor was delighted to recently open the newly refurbished Tweeddale Inclusive Play space.  This playground will be available for families with SEND for after school/weekends and school holidays

I met incredible engineers at a recent visit to Rheecode Sutton Robotics Club who focus on teaching young people how to code, create and design robots through STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths).  I wish them all well at the forthcoming world championships in Texas!

Madam Deputy Mayor was delighted to attend the Carshalton Park Rotary Club Give Away Night where President Brian Hagley presented her with a cheque for £350 for the Mayor's two chosen charities.  The money was raised from their Christmas Santa Street Collection - Thank you!

Madam Deputy Mayor was deeply honoured to attend a wonderful event organised by Get On Downs (Sutton’s local Down Syndrome support group) to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day on the 21st March. The event was held at the Playwise Hub in Sutton Central Library

I was delighted to attend the vibrant and joyous festival of Holi organised by Sanatan Hindu Cultural Society. Holi, known as the festival of colours, holds profound significance in Hindu culture

The Mayor's Annual Charity Concert is being held on the 27th April 2024.  It will be a wonderful event with music from the Norwood Wind Ensemble and the Sing Out Sutton Choir. Tickets are available on the door and all proceeds will go to the Mayor's two chosen charities

Myself and Madam Deputy Mayor were privileged to attend the Commemoration of Operation Varsity Rhine Crossing at Manor Park War Memorial which is held annually in memory of Johnny Johnson a veteran of that battle and a member of Croydon Parachute Regiment Association

Myself, the Mayoress and Madam Deputy Mayor were delighted to host a reception in the Parlour for Sutton's Young Carers from five local schools, to recognise the contributions they make to their families, communities and society

I attended a wonderful launch event of the Fantastic Freddie Foundation; a newly set up disability foundation that will service young disabled people aged 15-30 by providing opportunities to enjoy their lives whilst giving them chances to engage in age appropriate activities

It was an honour to lead the ceremony to Flay the Flag for the Commonwealth at 9.50am this morning accompanied by Deputy Lieutenant Christopher Goodwin & Madam Deputy Mayor. The Sutton Sea Cadets attended & many thanks to Cadet Lexi Bulmer who raised the Commonwealth Flag

Myself and Madam Deputy Mayor had a wonderful time visiting 3rd Sutton Brownies and to present certificates to all the entrants who took part in the Mayoral Christmas Card competition 2023.  Huge congratulations to Keira who won the winning design!

Myself & Madam Deputy Mayor were delighted to host a reception for all the participants who took part in Sutton's winning entry for the London New Year's Day Parade. Their entry secured an incredible £15,000 for the Mayor’s two chosen charities, a huge well done!

Myself & Mayoress were honoured to attend Cheam & Sutton Rotary Club meeting. They carry out incredible voluntary & fundraising work for charities in the borough raising £15k-£20k per year.  I discussed the valuable work I do as Mayor in the community & for my 2 chosen charities

The Mayor's Charities Quiz night is taking place on 13 April 2024. This will be a wonderful evening, with all proceeds going to my two chosen charities, St Raphael's Hospice Wellbeing Centre and Volunteer Centre Sutton - Sutton Youth Cares Project.  Please come and have some fun!
