Arctic studies + scientific diplomacy + networks of scientific collaboration --> take a look at our new publication on logics of scientific collaboration in Svalbard (Arctic) - a mixed method research with Mayline Strouk. We enjoyed writing it & we hope you will enjoy reading it!

Are you a patch birder in the UK? Would you like to participate in a research project about patch birding? The project focuses on environmental change, well-being, low-carbon birding, and new technologies. Find out more here. Huge thanks Erpur Snaer Hansen #náttúrustofasuðurlands for returning with the #puffinrally and letting us join in! We placed metal and colour rings onto select puffins to establish a new citizen science research project that will contribute to the protection of this iconic seabird.

I have been lucky to be part of the team w/ Erpur Snær Hansen on the June 2024 Puffin Rally, visiting 13 #puffin colonies all over Iceland to monitor breeding success. More soon, especially at the #EASST4S2024 and the The Seabird Group 2024 conferences! Some pictures from a few colonies⬇️

Tour Spotlight: Birding Trail It was a delight collaborating with Mayline Strouk to launch this tour! With stops both in and outside of the city, it is sure to engage all birding enthusiasts! Follow the trail here: curiousedinburgh.org/birding-trail/ #edinburgh #scotland #birdwatching

Still so thrilled about the huge turnout for our #Seabirds session at #EASST4S2024! What can we learn along with seabirds on socio-technical matters? I also heard two very inspiring stories and reflections from Izabelle Grimm and Andrew Whitehouse!

"Following those who follow seabirds. Geography of marine ornithologists mobilities to the field site in and around the Arctic." Mayline Strouk delves into the social factors influencing the choice of seabird research sites, based on interviews and fieldwork. #CoimbraSeabirds
