This weekend we were at New England Muslim Festival talking about Uyghur culture and the current political situation. We want to thank the organizers for creating such a great event, and for all the people who stopped by to talk to us and to write postcards to Uyghurs in prison.

After 6 months of no news, we are deeply saddened and heartbroken by the recent response of Spokesperson发言人办公室 to The Economist stating that Kamile Wayit is sentenced on March 25th for “promoting extremism”. This is absolutely absurd and unreasonable punishment.

As an advocate for Kamile, I'm heartbroken by this news! I demand her immediate release without any negotiations. She is innocent as many million other Uyghurs! I will not be silent and will be speaking on behalf of Kamile until she is free.
