This is a pretty cool idea for signal amplification in fluorescence imaging: first fuse the target protein with a biotin ligase, then label with a fluorescent streptavidin:

Great talk today at MCB_Harvard by Elçin Ünal from UC Berkeley MCB about aging and rejuvenation of gametes in meiosis. The slide on the photo highlights the efforts of Elçin's former PhD student Jay Goodman, who was an UG student working with me at Chemistry at Illinois. Small world 🙂
