It was also David Cameron who gave us the referendum. He promised during the Rochester by-election to legislate for it within 100 days if re-elected as PM and then did as he had promised.

Speaking of history - on the 20th June 1897, 2000 former slaves paraded in Seychelles celebrating Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee.

Carrying Union Jack flags printed with the words ‘The Flag that sets us free’,

All had been rescued by the Royal Navy from the East African slave…
