Marek Kwiek / Social Stratification in Science Agree it is v annoying to get no review 7 months after submission. We know too well journals' difficulties in getting good peer reviews. But the start of the solution is surely to manage journals & their editorship efficiently, not to coast along with this sort of sloppiness.

Barbara S. Lancho Barrantes Marek Kwiek / Social Stratification in Science I suspect the journal editors intend to tell authors when then can't find reviewers. But one of the problems is that they think >7 months is an acceptable time to wait.

Marek Kwiek / Social Stratification in Science Marianne Noel What’s the point of exhibiting journal stats if cases like yours are not the exception?

Exactly! I am a 'leading scholar, Stanford list 2%, MAE etc. Now think of co-author Lukasz Szymula, 28. For him, 2 years... Look at #Minerva Scopus journal percentile ranks. A fall. My young collaborators would never go below 95th percentile. #Minerva is 80, substandard.
