People talk about the Trump DOJ, but it was the Democrats who started weaponizing the Justice Dept. When, as the Chairman of the SFRC, I didn't go along with Obama's Iran deal, I was indicted, and the next day after being stripped of my position, Obama announced the Iran deal.

This was the ultimate weaponization of the Justice Dept. for a political purpose. 10 of 12 jurors didn't believe ANY of the government's case, and the Federal Judge overseeing the case, dismissed the most serious counts, saying, "there was no there, there!" But the damage was

So when Democrats talk about weaponizing the Justice Dept, they should look into their own past actions. Obama was willing to use the Justice Department to pursue and preserve the legacy issue he felt would earn him the Nobel Prize he had received.

Obama’s Justice Department was used against me, not only over Iran, but also about Cuba policy. I opposed Obama unilaterally opening up to the Castro regime without getting any concessions. No release of political prisoners, no Free Press, no free elections. No freedoms!

Obama told me he didn't want to see criticism from me over his Cuba policy. But I had spent a lifetime fighting for Cuban freedom. I could not remain silent!

My opposition to Obama's legacy policies on Iran and Cuba got me indicted by Jack Smith, the head of the Public Integrity Unit at Justice. The Judge dismissed the most important counts and the case was subsequently dismissed,but the damage was done.

So these experiences, as well as those under the Biden administration, where Obama's influence was still prevalent through his surrogates, lead me to understand why President Trump believes the Justice Department was Weaponized against him and his supporters.
