Nice mnemonic rule about Na-K pump. I always struggled to remember what went in and what went out. Sprinkle dry roasted ones on Greek salad (or is it heresy)

It's been a long road but my main PhD manuscript has finally been accepted for publication. Cannot thank Simon Mead and Iryna Benilova enough for being such huge supports throughout, as well as others at MRC Prion Unit at UCL Institute of Prion Diseases and UTSW.

Pro tip: initials that spell “IB” are not good when working with Inclusion Bodies.😅Yesterday a colleague almost fed my “IB”-labeled bacterial junk to the FPLC (thinking it’s pre-cleared IB). Would have been an expensive disaster…🙈

Making osmotic shock buffers today gave me such bad sugar cravings that I came home and dipped into my son’s Halloween candy stash (the one for the trick-or-treaters)🎃 Not proud.

I am really enjoying the #prion2025 meeting in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Many thanks to the organizers for this opportunity to present and have incredible discussion with colleagues from around the world.

On #RemembranceSunday, thinking about my great-grandfather who survived and the men in his company who died, and all the Ukrainians having to fight in similar conditions right now. westernfrontassociation.com/world-war-i-ar…

Growing up in a family of career academics (thankfully not biologists), the “who stole from who” was a recurrent conversation topic and an occasional bedtime story (ok I exaggerate). it’s cross-cultural and probably inevitable.
