I’m teaching my #wuos on Graphic Novels coauthored with Hareem Atif Khan in my own 4th grade class. My kids are hyped I’m on the cover! I’ll share tips as I go thru the unit. I’ll collect everything in a blog post at the end. #tcrwp #graphicnovel
Pre-Unit work I read aloud Stinky by Eleanor Davis under the document camera. We then drew a story arc of all the ways Stinky tried to get rid of Nick. peaks=tries, the valleys=fails Then, in purple, I sketched what the story arcs for our stories might look like.
Thought for the day- find common ground, always be open to change. Follow Lucy Calkins' example. Stand up for what is right, but be willing to change when change is needed. Look at all the research, don't believe the strawmen points of view forwarded by some on social media.
