Weekend vibes. 💗

Southport already has a special place in our hearts as we have family there. I can't imagine the pain felt by the community. The brutal murders & attempted murders of beautiful children & the heroic adults trying to protect them is utterly sickening. This cannot happen again.

Those rioting in Southport seek only to hijack the murders of children to incite division, fear and violence, furthering their own shameful agenda. It's disgusting, and so disrespectful to those directly affected yesterday. Contemptible.

In November far right thugs rioted in Dublin like they are in Southport tonight. Leo Varadkar’s response has stayed with me: “They did not do it because they love Ireland, out of any sense of patriotism, or to protect Irish people. They did it because they’re filled with hate.”

These guys rocked up to a vigil for murdered children with a crate of beer. True patriots.

This is how Southport responded. A group of around 100 members of the community are repairing damage to the local mosque, seen here rebuilding a wall. St Luke’s Road, last night strewn with rubble and debris, has already been cleared.
