Results from Kingston Council: Lib Dem – 25,006 Brexit Party – 10,197 Green – 4,892 Cons – 4,176 Lab – 4,005
Clear that Kingston wants to stay in the EU. Thank you to everyone who voted Liberal Democrats in #EUelections2019 to #StopBrexit!
Really interesting visit to the Hogsmill sewage treatment works this morning. The investment by Thames Water 💧 is impressive.
Thanks for the invite @AdeleLibDem and for showing us around Architype, Willmott Dixon and Sutton Council. #Passivhaus School for over 1000 pupils with one normal-sized boiler (and a spare) Malcolm Self
As Lib Dems running Kingston Council we have said new developments must be suitable height & density, good design, respect our history, maximise affordable housing & 3-bed homes. Surrey House proposal didn't and delighted Planning Inspector has agreed. kingstonlibdems.org/lib_dems_win_f…
Delighted Planning Inspector has listened to our calls to reduce Kingston Council target for more housing by 400 per year. Of course devil can be in the detail, so we are analysing that now.
Last week Cllr Cllr Alison Holt🔸 delivered our 2020/21 budget for Kingston Council In 2010 Kingston received £66,000,000 from Government but now we receive £0! Because of this – like 97% of councils – Council Tax will increase by 1.99%
Lovely to see the Guildhall lit up for International Women’s Day this evening #ChoseToChallenge #InternationalWomensDay Kingston Council Bloody Good Period
We're heading into the weekend on a positive note following a very encouraging mtng with Kingston Council The meeting was constructive and we felt listened to. We are committed to finding the best way forward, and we're pleased that things are moving in the right direction.🙏
Good news. The planning appeals for resurfacing and use of site as 'storage' at Seething Wells Filter Beds have been dismissed. Essentially the planning inspector is agreeing with Kingston Council that the site is not industrial.
RBK Liberal Democrats administration has refused planning permission for two new towers (15 and 19 storeys) on the Tolworth Tower site. 10 reasons are given including lack of affordable, housing, lack of 3 bed flats, height of towers, lack of amenity space and car-parking.
Seething Wells Filter Beds update: following pressure by Kingston Council the Environment Agency has finally confirmed that they will not grant further licences for pesticide spraying to control Himalyan Balsam. Good news and hoping this will help the site start to come back to life.
