Fire Weather Watches have been issued through much of NE Nebraska from noon Tuesday through 8 PM Tuesday. SW winds 15-25 mph gusts up to 40 mph, warm & extremely dry conditions are expected. Fires will spread rapidly. Outdoor burns are NOT reccomended.

Temperatures already in the mid/upper 50's/low 60's this midday. Highs rise into the low/mid 70's through the afternoon. With gusty winds in excess of 40 mph, seeing high/very high fire danger throughout the area, with critical/near critical fire danger in NE Nebraska.

Our snow system has taken a bit of a southern track with latest updates. Winter Weather Advisories & Winter Storm Warnings in the area have been adjusted as a result. 1-3" of snow expected in the Advisory & 4-6" possible near/within the Winter Storm Warning.

Crawford County has been added to the Winter Storm Warning, from 12 PM this afternoon through 6 AM Friday. Heavy snow accumulation of 5-7" is possible, along with reduced visibilites and slick conditions.

A bit milder to start the day today with temperatures into the mid/upper 20's and low 30's. Wind chills though in the 10's and teens. Warmer and breezy for the afternoon with highs into the upper 40's & low/mid 50's. High to very highs fire danger though!

Significant street flooding here in Speedway, about 1 mi west of IMS. Around ankle deep or so when I went to move my car onto the driveway! Lots of lighting and wind as well! Brian Wilkes NWS Indianapolis
