Frederick Dramadri, a journalist with Voice of Life was on the 16th of May attacked by masked assailants. The attackers blamed him for reporting on Arua Deputy RCC Ezama Muzamil. We condemn this assault on Frederick and call for swift action. bit.ly/4bmcKJF

Ongoing: District officials from Madi Okollo and Terego with adolescents from Rhino camp refugee settlement are for an Inclusive Budgeting workshop in Arua City. The workshop is organized by Alliance of Women Advocating for Change AWAC UGANDA

Ministries of Finance and Local Government enhancing the capacity of the district technical team in Performance Assessment and Improvement Plan. The major areas of concern are; Own Source of Revenue Mobilisation and credibility of LLG Performance Assessment results.

Today we have committed to advocate and prioritize Social Protection of our communities. The pledge was made during the two days training on Social Protection courtesy of World Food Programme . Thank you World Food Program for tingling our minds on the need for social protection.

Madi Okollo District Local Government today handed over two brand new motorcycles to the production officers. The district received the motorcycles from the Ministry of Agriculture under the National Oil Seeds project. The district further requested for more motorcycles.

*Ongoing* Ministry of Local Government inducting the Council, Boards and Commissions and Heads of Department of Madi Okollo District Local Government. The major topics of induction are; the roles of the council, LGPAC and District Service Commission, Legal Frameworks.

Save the Children International has supported the Community Based Services Department of Madi Okollo with a Land Cruiser. This means of transport is aimed at enhancing child protection in the district. Thank you Save the Children International for this kind gesture.

UNHCR has donated an ambulance to Madi Okollo District Local Government. The ambulance will enhance the poor referrals system the district has been battling due to limited ambulances. The ambulance will be stationed at Odoubo Health center three in Rigbo sub county.

*Three out of four suspected cases of Monkey Pox from Pawor HCIII Madi Okollo District have today Saturday 25/01/2025 tested positive for Monkey Pox disease.* *This is according to the District Surveillance Focal Person Arima Jonathan.
