The current package of military bills in front of the legislature shows how serious Alabama is about not only maintaining our military and defense presence but continuing to build on that presence. I am proud to support these pieces of legislation for our troops and veterans.

Leaving the State House today, I feel an overwhelming sense of accomplishment. Our legislature solved a problem that hasn’t been fixed in decades. The legislature and Governor Kay Ivey changed our state for generations to come and I’m proud to serve as your Speaker today.

It’s always a privilege to speak to the students that will shape the future of our great state. That’s why the House of Representatives will continue to respond to the needs of Alabama’s public universities while working to retain the graduates of those universities in state.

I enjoyed speaking to the 2022 class of Alabama Boys State today in the old House Chamber. Well over 400 rising High School seniors came to Montgomery today to learn about Alabama’s state government.
