The group of candidates looking to fill a vacancy on South Carolina's Supreme Court includes 3 women and 3 men. Two of the women are Black.

Currently, the supreme court has no women and Chief Justice Donald Beatty, the sole Black justice on the bench, is retiring.

Filing update: Former state Sen. Lee Bright has filed for his old Spartanburg Senate seat to succeed Sen. Scott Talley, who beat Bright in a 2016 runoff and is retiring this year.
