This is awesome! Hits all the key points (many of which are not obvious when we are just starting out). I especially like the part about close-reading >50 papers in your field. The way I learned to write was by "copying" good papers I had read.

Sharing a new article on cognitive outcomes in #LongCovid survivors. 40% of participants in this small study had abnormal scores on at least 1 cognitive measure, highlighting the prominence of brain injuries in this at risk population. CIBS Center pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34469360/

👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻Our wonderful @VUMCHearSpeech faculty were recognized for their outstanding accomplishments in research, teaching, and service last night in-person at ASHA: A 🧵

My mentor and friend Terry Wertz passed away on 12/2/21. He was 86 years old. He is a legend in the field of speech-language pathology. I was his last doctoral student. Like many of his former students and colleagues, I owe my career to him. He will live in our hearts forever.

This paper was recently published in Brain Sciences pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/35448023/ with fellow DHSS PhD candidate Sarah Diehl and faculty mentors Antje Mefferd, Michael de Riesthal, and Stephen Wilson. Great work all!

Jade Mitchell Jade T. Mitchell gave a stunning talk on comprehension of complex language in legal contexts (Miranda warnings) in TBI and presented her work on the clinical management of post-TBI memory disorders by SLPs in Dublin at the IBIA meeting. #IBIA23 @VUMCHearSpeech
