I met with UAE Ambassador Mr. Ahmed Juma Al-Rumaithi to discuss easing Somali travel to the UAE, strengthening bilateral ties, and enhancing cooperation between the two countries' immigration agencies, including expertise and training exchanges.

I met with U.S. Ambassador Richard H. Riley and the U.S. Embassy in Mogadishu to discuss strengthening cooperation on migration management and combating illegal immigration. I thanked the U.S. government for its vital support in developing the Agency’s infrastructure.

I met with Turkish Amb Alper Aktaş to discuss boosting Somalia-Turkey ties. We focused on easing immigration for Somalis traveling to Turkey and training Somali immigration officers. I appreciated Turkey’s support for Somalia’s state-building efforts & their role in our progress.

I signed a key cooperation agreement today with Interpol to combat organized crime, enhance travel security, improve ICA officers’ skills, boost ICA-Interpol collaboration, and aid in locating missing persons. A vital step for Somalia & beyond.

Today, I met with the Saudi Ambassador to Somalia, H.E. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Mawlid, to discuss enhancing security cooperation, migration facilitation, and curbing illegal immigration.

I had a productive meeting with IOM Somalia Representative, Mr. Manuel M. Pereira, & his Deputy, Ms. Ptestage, to discuss enhancing migration cooperation and advancing programs to improve service delivery. I also thanked IOM and donors for supporting institutional development.

Met with Mrs. Qurat Al-Aini, Deputy Director of Operations at UNSOS, to strengthen ICA-UN cooperation. I expressed gratitude for their support in Somalia’s reconstruction and shared ICA’s development plan on borders, immigration, and elevating the Somali passport’s profile.

Today, I received in my office the Ambassador of the Government of Finland to Somalia, Ambassador Pirkka Tapiola, and his Deputy, Mrs. Elli Mikkola. We discussed strengthening cooperation in official training and enhancing border and immigration services.

I welcomed a delegation from the Finnish Embassy to my office, led by Ms. Emma Pajunen. Our discussion focused on strengthening our partnership. Our cooperation and knowledge-sharing is crucial to our country’s. We are committed to ensuring fruitful collaboration.

This evening I attended a collective Iftar organized by ICA Somalia leadership to honor the holy month of Ramadan. I thanked our Officers for expediting emergency travel documents for our Somali National Armed Forces, I commend the bravery sacrifice of our soldiers in liberating our country.

This morning I had a productive meeting with CID Director,Colonel Muhudin Osman.Our discussion focused on strengthening cooperation between our agencies, intelligence sharing and stepping up efforts against illegal migration & terrorism in the country.

I attended the closing ceremony of the football tournament organized by the ICA Somalia in honor of the blessed month of Ramadan. I congratulate the Immigration and Residency Department for winning the tournament.
