TB elimination is achievable only if we search actively for the disease, give treatment to everyone who needs it, and prioritize prevention strategies. Zero TB Cities Stop TB Partnership Salmaan Keshavjee nyti.ms/2N7e1IZ

The Mayor of Porto, Rui Moreira, has just announced at #HR19 that the city will be opening a mobile supervised consumption site.🗣 To other cities and countries yet to open these facilities he says: you must. They’re vital if you are serious about saving lives.

Can we please call it ‘physical distancing’ and not ‘social....’? It is necessary to be safe and avoid the spread of #COVID19. AND remain socially close. Virtually for now

A new report from researchers at @penn, UCLA, & Boston University finds that homeless individuals with #COVID19 would be 2x as likely to be hospitalized, 2-4x as likely to require critical care, and 2-3x as likely to die from #COVID19 as the general population: endhomelessness.org/wp-content/upl…

We have to do community-based screening and testing to identify those who are sick (and need medicines and support) and those who can go back to school and work. This is feasible and possible. A long-term quarantine would hurt many people and increase poverty. Advance Access & Delivery (AA&D) Partners In Health

This is a critical point. Lockdowns WITHOUT MASS TESTING will not solve the problem in a few weeks. We need to institute community-based community-wide testing.

Tragically these deaths are not unexpected. Less services and more toxic drugs. The choice is stark. Stop using drugs or Death by overdose. Only sensible rapid intervention is offering people a safe regulated supply. Recovery comes too late. #SafeSupplyNow @MySafeProject
