My #UNMUTE interview is live!!

It was something I knew I wanted to do before I even started writing my first show #WHITEplay so I was excited to be able to experiment without any pressure.

Yeah, I think we've had to spend more time with our brains and a lot of the coping mechanisms we've put in place have disappeared. Within the arts we're continuing to lose our industry everyday so that will take a toll.

Q4: Koko We've also had the pleasure of watching another show of yours, Grey, which is BSL-integrated and excellently performed by yourself and @Sapphire_Joy. Having made your work so accessible, do you have any tips for other artists who want to do this more? #UNMUTE

What a great question! I first got involved with #mindfulness from my master #opera teacher in Vienna, Austria, who introduced me to lot of tools for how to start to get my mind on my own side. When you sing, all of you is the instrument. So what you think is what you sing. (1/2)

#Mindfulness is vital to my art. As an artist, I'm mining my emotional experience of life and translating it into what I create. I've learned I need to be very grounded to do this type of expansive work and I'm still learning. I meditate, journal,and make sure to sweatdaily!(2/2)

But yes, I still stand by the sentiment that if we sacrifice our health for 'productivity' then often there's a big price to pay. I personally strive for #success that is when health and productivity are balanced and positively symbiotic.(2/2)
