Thanks to the local activists and City Council who worked together to save housing for hundreds of Charlottesville households! A good day.

Last night City Council approved its partnership with Piedmont Housing, Habitat for Humanity Greater Charlottesville, and the residents of Carlton Mobile Home Park to purchase the land for future conscientious affordable redevelopment. Today the offer was accepted! Very excited to see this succeed 🏡🏢🏘️

Amazing! I'd love to see more efforts to empower mobile home park residents to purchase their parks. As one of the last sources of affordable housing, we should prioritize keeping mobile home parks out of the hands of private developers and vulture capitalists like Carlyle Group.
