“Tough” players are so misunderstood. Tough is running out an infield pop up. Tough is going 0-15 and still being a good teammate. Tough is overcoming a missed 2-2 pitch. Tough is competing when every fiber in your body says it’s not worth it. That’s tough!!!

Perfectly timed delay pick at third base. Base runner puts his head down & slowly returns to 3B when he thinks the catcher is making a return throw to the pitcher. The fact that he is leading so far foul & does not return immediately in fair territory makes it that much easier.
