What a fabulous start for our new policing students on the first ever Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire . Great team effort to get this started. I'll be working in Nottingham next week with our PCDA students. Proud.

Today I met my second cohort of PCDA Students from Notts Police. As the first ever programme leader for this course, I understand how privileged I am to work with these dedicated, focused and motivated people. Brave, proud.

For the fifth year in succession I have had the honour of being nominated for an academic award, this year as outstanding personal tutor. I am so proud and want to thank every student who went out of their way to nominate me. I am overwhelmed by your belief and support.

Proud and impressed day today. My PCDA student officers presented academic and legislative assignments to senior academics and senior police officers. Everyone was impressed with their knowledge, ability and hard work and research. Future great cops in the making. Thanks team.

You know when you put your phone in your pocket, thinking you've switched it off.... And then look at twitter the same night and see what your pocket has written for you.... Apologies...

PCDA student reviews today. Fabulous to hear the comments from tutors about great students and their exceptional abilities. Practical application of theoretical skills. Apprenticeships at their best. Proud Dad day for me.

I've heard today that a group of Derbyshire Police Cadets have been nominated for a national award for their drugs awareness project. These projects are part of my University's Police Cadet Foundation in Policing Programme. A qualification Cadets choose to do with us. Fantastic

By no means perfect, but it's going down well. Churchill cake,... Now the question is.... Should we have it with a piece of cheese.....?, yeah I'm going there..... Reckless...

Another proud day for me today. Asked to present at UVAC conference on PCDA education delivery methodology. Working with partner forces and friend PC Dylan Boddy. Fabulous to share and learn from contributors.

Always proud of my PCDA students, today they listened and questioned on line the Police and Crime Commissioner Hardyal Dhindsa. Incredible to see that their work and dissertations fit well into his strategic plans and their work will inform development and change for the force.

Thank you to Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire police Cadets who have been on line in the evenings these last two weeks, after school and college, taking notes and being brilliant for their foundation in policing and listening to me too. Fantastic.
