I think Messi just said “good to meet you” in English

I believe we finally have audio and video evidence of the goat speaking English. The internet has been waiting on this moment for a long time

70,000 are in Missouri to see Messi. Pele sold out stadiums like this when he was here in the 70s.

We’ve been here before. This isn’t new

The question is - is MLS capitalizing on the attention to cement MLS as a league people will want to watch when Messi leaves?

Notice a trend as to the teams that go deep in CCL every year from MLS?

The teams are always different.

2022: Seattle 🏆
2023: LAFC (lost in final)
2024: Columbus

All the while, one of Tigres, Pachuca, Club America or Monterrey have been involved now in 14 of the last 19 CCL…

Two buyouts per season: B+
- Allowing teams to get out of terrible contracts is a huge W.…

With the mid-season roster rule changes, MLS is essentially committing to spending tens of millions more, depending on how teams choose to use the money available to them.

It's a sizable investment, but it doesn't address the primary root issue which is the complexity of it all

These rule changes are just another step down a confusing path.

Will teams get better because of these changes? Yes, everyone will be able to add 2, maybe 3, decent players, but it's still further entangling things in a web of roster mechanisms that are outdated

I think you'll see MLS be one of the first ones to play games overseas

It's an extremely American concept. We've been playing meaningful games overseas in our major sports for decades.

I would not put it past them to schedule Miami for a match on another continent

The two players Miami subbed in tonight make 30% less money ($65,000) than the average player in the English 4th division where Wrexham plays ($95,000)

The players MLS forces its clubs to carry are often amateur level by the big nations’ standards

Reports here that people within MLS (including former MLS president Mark Abbott) are a part of a group looking to turn college football into a Super League with promotion and relegation for teams outside of the top 70 who’d be protected
