The Sky's End movie announcement videos I did with my students now has a combined 31.7 million views and 1.59 million likes over Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.

Michelle Sanchez I ran the numbers through QueryTracker and 20% of authors who landed agents queried 100 or more agents before getting their offer. So don't give up too early.

Not everybody is going to love what you do, and if you try to please everyone, you're only going to cause yourself heartache. Write for yourself. Write the thing that keeps you up at night. And never forget those amazing feelings, even if someone else doesn't feel the same!

Author goal unlocked: I'm running two polls today on Instagram stories asking readers who they are excited to see in Among Serpents. And each poll has over 100 votes. It's such a cool feeling seeing so many people have their favorite characters from my books!

One incredible thing I've not forgotten after getting published is the first time a stranger read my one of my books. It didn't even matter if the person loved the book. Just finishing reading the whole thing...that was magic.

Today, I was more conflicted than ever upon finding a student off-task. They weren't doing the assignment. They were reading a book. And they were reading MY book. I re-engaged the student in the lesson and smiled as I stepped to check on the others in the class.

One thing that really helped me with my writing was working at a call center for five years. I probably spoke to around 10,000 people a year from all over the country, and it helped me so much in learning how to communicate. It was a tough job! But as an introvert, it helped me.
