Today 18 fire engines - part of a 22-vehicle convoy - packed with 5,000 items of kit & equipment - set off to Poland, to assist firefighters in Ukraine. NFCC Chair says it was a 'humbling experience' following a huge effort from fire services, NFCC, FIRE AID and the industry.

We were called out to a chimney fire tonight that turned out to be a blockage caused by a birds nest. This serves as a reminder to have your chimney swept or inspected if you haven't used it in some time.

Yesterday we attended a moorland fire near Levisham on the @northyorkmoors, alongside Lythe Fire Station, Malton Fire Station, Robin Hoods Bay Fire Station and Kirkbymoorside. Thank you to Mountain Rescue England and Wales for your assistance. #firefighter #northyorkshire #firefighting

So far today, Pickering crew have attended 6 incidents, these have been a combination of 2 x property fires, a line-side fire, a field fire and 2 x standbys. With the current weather conditions - we’re asking people to be extra careful and vigilant #oncall #firefighters 🚒☀️

At around 5am this morning crews from Lythe Fire Station, Whitby, Danby, Scarborough and Saltburn as well as an officer were mobilised to a house fire in Whitby. The fire is now extinguished with investigations on-going. North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service Mark Naylor
