I don't hold with the term 'toxic masculinity' because it has extraordinary power to destroy and eat men up from the inside, telling us we're all in some way doomed to be it. I am sure the current tone of the conversation about masculinity contributes to this awful statistic.

Today is the anniversary of my HIV diagnosis.
I was 30 and had lost many friends to AIDS.
The doctor told me that with treatment I could expect to live another twenty years.
That was 26 years ago.
HIV changed. Tell everyone.

My family's story was different from this : they hated being in service and the items (a wooden tray, a framed print etc) were all looted in the aftermath of a catastrophic house fire. The print, which I have, is lined with an 1880s copy of The Times.

The fact people forget about Operation Dynamo, the evacuation of Dunkirk is that of the 338,226 men rescued 140,000 were #Polish , #French , #Dutch , #Indian and #Belgian troops. Though the majority were French other nations troops were evacuated. #Dunkirk
