This decision is so appalling & is a direct attack on Black histories in this country. It’s unbelievable that other unis, esp Liv Uni History Humanities & Social Sciences @ Uni of Liverpool have stood by in silence & let this happen. This MRes has produced 7 PhD students since 2018 & has c. 30 students currently 1/🧵
I did my MA in eighteenth century worlds in 2021/2 at Liverpool and there was 2 of us on the pathway. There were 3 people on the ECW course this year - yet Liv Uni History are allowing the only course of its kind, with a significantly higher number of students, to be destroyed.
Liv Uni History Humanities & Social Sciences @ Uni of Liverpool @LivUni should be hosting Hakim Adi course, which is run entirely online. This is especially important in a city like Liverpool which has one of Europe’s oldest Black communities, and was responsible for the trafficking of at least 1.4 million enslaved people.
