Good morning folks. We are four weeks post-Hurricane Beryl and we just hit 20% of the gofundme target 😭😭 £10k means we have enough to buy materials and pay for labour to rebuild one midsized roof! Thank you for your generosity. Please keep sharing 💛❤️💚 gofund.me/5d2f1fce

Today marks Emancipation Day, when the Slavery Abolition Act came into force across the British Empire Instead of compensating slaves, the government took out its biggest ever loan to pay the slavers: £300bn in today's money. We only finished paying off this loan in 2015.

A racist lynch mob have set fire to another Holiday Inn Express hotel housing refugees. They are literally trying to burn alive people who have already fled war, torture and persecution. This is fascism Tamworth, England

When the far-right in Liverpool burn down their local library means they don’t care about the kids of this city, nor the country they are so passionate about saving. They are reflecting their own life issues and projecting it on their scapegoats to fix.

I just donated to 'Books for Spellow Lane' to help repair our library and replenish books for the kids. Every bit helps! Please donate, like, comment, and share to spread the word. 📚❤ #SupportSpellow gofund.me/3f0c3b1a

Any of my followers working in Liverpool today. A protest is planned outside the passport office/ home office on Old Hall Street so stay away. Local offices are locking down or sending staff home.

Not blogged in 2 yrs. Here are my reflection re this weekend's race riots. 'The symbolism of racial progression (albeit non-existent) alongside the respectability of racism, was a match waiting to be ignited... This whitelash finally clothed the empire.' bit.ly/46ATy9E

I haven’t done a thread in a while & I wanted to do one just to recap what Black & Asian people as well as immigrants have had to endure over the last week in the UK. Bookmark it 🧵
